Age Difference in Relationship - Is That Wrong?

My boyfriend and I are getting trouble from my parents because of the age difference in our relationship. I'm 22 and he is 29.

We grew up together and mom used to joke about how cute we would be together. I want to be with him, but I don't want to cut off my family either.

I love him and we have been discussing marriage, but before we take the next step, I have to choose a side. I don't want to do that. What should I do?

Small Age Difference
by: Anonymous

A small age difference doesn't matter. What the hell! If you love each other you have my love too!

My girl is Muslim so I have a huge change for me!

Argh!

Bet yes I love her. Age is nothing. Love is timeless.

Age Doesn't Matter
by: mi amor

You're younger than him but it's okay...not like me. I'm older than my boyfriend of 12 years, but we love each other.

Love is All That Matters

A quick comment here: there is definitely nothing wrong with the age difference. There are 11 years between my fiance and I and we are just fine. Go for it!

This Is Your Life
by: Penny

YOU are no longer under your parents, YOU are three times seven, and the life YOU will choose is one where you leave mother and father and cleave to another (husband) as your head. It's no longer about your parents, but YOU and your MATE. There isn't that much of an age difference between you two. I understand you don't want to choose, but they might have a way of making you. If they choose not to stand by your decision, then that's their choice... YOU didn't push them away they disassociated themselves from you. Be respectful, but live your life.

NOT WRONG
by: Anonymous

That is not such a big age difference. You are both adults. Being compatible and in love is what matters. Do what makes you happy in life. Your parents should not put you in the position of having to choose sides.
