Age Difference

by Evanna
(Vermont)

Parents Don't Like the Age Difference

I am almost 16 years old and have fallen in love with a 20 year old (age difference of 4 years) during the past 2 years. I've never been so sure of him before. We stopped talking for a year and a half and I thought of him every day.

In my state, Vermont, the age of consent is 16. He likes me too, and I don't think it's for the wrong reasons.

He told me the other day that he loves me in a strong way because I'm the only person who has loved him for so long and actually showed it. He's never forced anything upon me or made me feel uncomfortable, but my parents don't like the age difference, which is understandable, but I can't just stop loving him.

I have to sneak around to spend time with him. When I turn 16, should I just be with him? I will when I'm 18 anyway. Just don't want to wait :(
