He might be a latent homosexual and not had any contact with other males but confused about his sexuality and in denial. He just might be an artistic type with feminine characteristics that makes others think he is gay. If you don't feel anything is "off" then ignore others and don't worry if you are happy with the way things are.
Trust your own instincts and only time will tell. I doubt he would admit to being gay if he is dating a female as he does not want it known or is in denial and doesn't yet realize it himself. Just be alert. This will eventually reveal itself.

You should see if he acts "weird" and find hints if he's gay or not. But if you still don't know, confront him, but be gentle about it.
