Can't open up to me

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 10 months. We have been on and off because he can't open up to me. He tells me that he loves me but I feel like he doesn't. Because of this, we get into a lot of fights. He is a lot older than me and lives far away too. We don't get the chance to spend a lot of time together because I am a full time student and he is working.

I don't know what to do. I love him a lot and I don't want this relationship to end, ever. Please help me.
