Fading Scar Tissue

All i have left
is faded scar tissue,
that is the result
of the pain you have caused.
my scarred skin echoes
my scarred heart.
the skin that covers me is nothing
more than a protective coating,
a protective coating that will heal in time.
i may hurt myself purposely
but eventually i'll heal.
and all i have left to show my pain,
is fading scar tissue.
that one day, will be gone.
