Getting him back

My partner and I have been together nearly 4 years we've been through a lot together and as far as I was aware things were fine between us but 4 days ago he told me that he loves me but isn't in love with me anymore and that he needs to stand on his own two feet. It killed me as it was so unexpected. He has now moved his stuff out of the flat. Is there anyway to get him back?
