He Broke Up With Me

My fiance and I have been both battling some interpersonal issues, and recently he broke up with me so he can focus on himself. He and I still talk on the phone every night and he wants to go back to being best friends, but this is very painful for me. I want him back, but he tells me he's not ready for even the smallest commitment yet. What do I do?
