How Could You?

When a boy breaks a girl, it does more than just break her heart
She loves you with all her heart but you left her
How could you do that?
Each night she cries all alone
Her heart breaks even more as memories flow through her head
And every time she looks in her phone
She sees your number and cries harder
She wants to call
But she already knows you will just yell
She sits in her room and stares at her wall
Which is full of pictures of you and her together
As she looks at her favorite, the tears fall faster
She knows those times will never come again
She needs you more than you know
You were the only good thing in her life
She cries harder as her mom stomps in,
And hits her across the face,
The yelling causes more pain and tears
Her mom leaves slamming the door
The girl cries and take out a knife
She says that there is no point in life
That nobody cares.
And nobody's there.
She takes the knife to her wrist
Her wounds begin to bleed
Her hand curls into a fist
And tears roll down her cheeks
She cuts some more to forget you
But when it never works
The pain from her wrist,
And the pain from her heart which is broken in two
Feels like murder: her soul has died
And the only thing to bring it back
Is if you will be always and forever by her side
But you left her.
You did more than break a girl
You killed her with the shards of her own heart
How could you?
