I'll never get over him

Ok, so a couple of years ago, 2 new pupils joined my class. They were twins (I'm not going to use their real names) There was a boy and a girl. (I'm going to give them names to make it easier) The girl was called Bella and the boy was called Jake. I instantly fell in love with Jake. He had the most amazing blue eyes. Then someone told me that he liked me too, I was over the moon!

Then, when we were in a higher year, I went to my friend's party. Bella was invited too. We both went into the bathroom and she said to me, "Jake likes you too. He has this book thing and he wrote in it: I like Katie." Again, I was over the moon.

When we went into the next year, another new pupil joined our class. (I'll make up a name for her too) Her name was Lindsey. I became friends with her, but then she hung around with Bella and her friend. It didn't bother me because I had my own friends. Yeah, she went to Bella's house a lot.

Then, a couple of months after I went to another girl's birthday party. Lindsey and Bella were invited too. We were all just messing about in the ladies toilets then Lindsey told all of us, "Yeah I fancy Jake and he obviously fancies me to because he came and sat beside me and told me things like: You're the most sensible girl in the class etc, you know...compliments."

I looked at myself in the mirror. I had gone white. My chest felt tight. My stomach felt funny. It felt as if I was gonna throw up.

I told all the girls at the party about how I felt about Jake when they all asked what was wrong with me. Lindsey didn't talk at all. Later she texted me, "I'd never go out with him anyway. It was such a big secret to you. You must like him way more than I do."

So I went back to school. I asked Jake's friend Matthew who he (Jake) fancies (if any Americans are reading this, Fancy/Fancied means "crush") Matthew came back to me and said, "He didn't say but he told me once he fancies Lindsey."


Then at lunch time me, Matthew, Jude, Ronan, Caoimhe and Anna were all messin about and Matthew said to me and Anna (Anna fancies Jake too) that Jake said that he fancied Katie (me) and he fancied Lindsey a bit.

I knew that Jake used to fancy me, not anymore though. He was the coolest boy I ever met. We both had feelings for each other once, but he's moved on. I'll never get over him.
