In love with a man that is 22 years older than I, am I crazy?

I have found what seems to be my soul mate, the only thing is that we are 22 years apart in age. I am 30 he is 52. We haven't been together for very long but I have known him for many years. We are able to talk about anything and everything no matter the subject. Our communication is unbelievable, and I have never been so comfortable with a man in all my dating years. He isn't rich and doesn't have a lot to offer me, except his company and the great times we share together. I feel that he loves me for who I am, even though I am in the same boat as he when it comes to the fact the only thing to offer is me. I don't have to pretend I'm older and wiser and he doesn't have to pretend he is younger and any more outgoing than he is, we just work. So here's the question. My parents think I'm crazy for loving a man who is older than my mother. Am I? Should I just ignore everyone who has a problem with us and go on with my most amazing soul mate?
