In states of weakness, We show our true selves
by Luke Watson (Vamuke)
(Melbourne, Victoria, Australia)
Even though I've tried,
For all the times I cried,
But i never lied.
I poured my soul to you,
Even through the doubts I had,
You reassured me you'll be my friend 'til the end.
You helped me through tough times,
As did I for you,
I gave you all that I had,
But you gave more...
In nothing more then my head wasn't enough,
I had to know I really meant more,
But the answer beyond your words remained no.
We made Plans that seemed to good to be true,
I felt like we could be more,
But you misunderstood my words,
And our plans went out the door.
But we got through that,
I understood you,
But you still had me all wrong.
It was such an easy thing for you to fix,
But you made me go against myself and swear you from my heart,
This only hastened my need for something new.
One night you told me you loved me,
I knew nothing was meant by it,
But i felt our friendship was true.
The next week you told me you hate me,
I don't know what to believe anymore,
It hurts to much to think upon the reasons why.
You're sick of me telling you how much you've hurt me,
But I swore I'd never lie to you,
I just want to be what we were,
But these blood red wrists tell me it'll never be the same...
