Long Distance Relationship Concerns

My boyfriend is in basic training in Texas for the Airforce and I'm in college in Virginia. Before we parted, we said we would be together forever no matter what. Well its been about a little over a month and the only contact I've had from him has been a letter and I wont be able to see him until April of next year.

I met somebody at school and we've been talking and what not but I don't know what to do. Do you think its worth staying in my relationship of 2 years? Do you think it will last?
