Losing Grip
by Rose Mars
(US)
Hidden inside her secret refuge she lets herself break,
Releasing all that she’s kept locked inside.
She sets free all imperfections she can no longer take,
Recognizing each flaw she tries so hard to hide.
The armor she wears around me has been broken,
And all of her fragile pieces have begun to fall.
She was never who they thought she was, no golden token,
She was never that girl at all.
This broken part of her is one she never thought she’d show.
She’s just a girl lost inside herself,
A girl on the edge of letting go.
