One of the hardest things in life is to let go of what you thought was real

I fell in love with an amazing guy on November 13th, 2009. We always talked about the future. It was real, to me. But we broke up on June 27th, 2011 because he had been sleeping with our friends wife for four months and she is now expecting his child.
My friend told me and he admitted to it, finally. I had had my suspicions but loved him so much, I didn't question it. How do I let go?
