Painted Pictures

Painted pictures on the wall.
When you speak, I start to fall,
Into the darkness.
Crash into the ocean.
Drown in my own tears.
This isn’t how this was supposed to end.
I swim to the surface,
To catch a glimpse of one last hope.
To feel your lips once more,
Once more.
I start thinking and wondering and hoping you won’t leave.
But in the end will you still love me?
Or will you just forget the memory,
Of that girl you knew?
You turn to go,
But I won’t let you.
Please just listen to my voice.
You know that I’m not perfect,
And you know that I am scared,
But don’t worry, just keep walking, and don’t look back.
I promise this is for the best,
And you will thank me later on.
Just please don’t forget this.
Don’t forget this.
I start thinking and wondering and hoping this isn’t it.
But in the end will you still love me?
Will you remember all those memories,
Of that girl you knew?
