Questions of the Heart
by Bards
(Philippines)
To what extent can one heart take?
How many wounds before it breaks?
How many songs each time of night?
Would there be a way to make it right?
To where should I go to mend and heal?
How did we lose something that's real?
How can I stop the flow of tears?
Would you still be there to chase away my fears?
To whom should I seek comfort if you choose to part?
How will I explain to my weak and fragile heart?
How can I move on from where you have left?
Would you be right there when I take my first step?
* This poem was written during the time of deep confusion. I had no idea what was going on; I didn't know what to do... there were a lot of questions- Questions that I didn't know if there was an answer to. But then I realized maybe there are questions that are better off not answered. Not because it doesn't have an answer to it rather it's better to keep it a mystery that be shared to the whole world. It's good to have a little mystery in life, right?
