Sorry to hear this, but have you tried talking to him about how you feel? If not, sit him down and let him know what's on your mind and what you're feeling. If he really does LOVE you, then he'll hear you out. Probably that's all you both need to do is talk.

I really think you should talk to him. If you have a really close relationship and he loves you and your kid, then he should understand. If you have talked to him already, then I really don't know what to say.
