Regret
by Jacquelina Rodriguez

It's my fault that we're this way
Without you, my life has changed
I've been with other people but no one can compare
To the happiness you brought me or the love that we've shared
No matter where I am or what I do
All I seem to think about is you
I miss all of the time we spent together
You were there for me even in the worst weather
You were the one and only
And now I regret everything
Because I questioned and never believed
That you were the one who stayed true to me
But don't feel guilty that I messed up
And don't feel sympathetic because I'm fed up
It hurts but I made it like this
It kills me knowing I'm not the one you kiss
But I'm sorry now that there's no you and me
I just hate myself for losing the most precious thing in the world to me ...
This poem was inspired by an ex who was great to me and for some reason I just didn't see it and I wish I could have him back.
Yearning for a lost love
