Shadowed Lace
by Kristina Christiansen
(Spokane WA)
Shadowed lace,
A black corset.
She sits alone,
Remembering how she was once loved.
Her bare arms shake,
And diamonds on her cheeks.
She plays a song of sorrow and grief,
A cello the shade of midnight,
And hair the color of stars.
She sits on a stool,
and plays out her heart.
And the shadowed lace covers her scars.
