Stricken With Sadness
by Kyla Jo Ann Parras

The blades are unclean
And the cuts are so deep
Your not here to stop me so why do I care
I'm stricken with sadness it's not even fair
You told me I was fine and I said you were wrong
You told me to just be scared and you would hold on
Now your not here you left me in the cold
You said we would grow old
That was before you turned me and now I’m not dying
That’s before you bit me and now I’m not trying
The blood keeps flowing and I feel better
The cuts are deeper and I feel steadier.
Nothing you say is right, so why even talk at all.
You weren’t there for me to catch my fall.
All the lies you told me were the truth
To find out I was wrong in my youth
Now frozen here at the age of sixteen
I have no where to go nowhere to lean
You left me here to drink the blood of helpless things
Against my power they can't spread their wings.
They are helpless and I am strong
But inside it feels so wrong
