I'm 26 now and married to this man. We met freshman year in high school. We were friends until my sophomore year, then we decided we would take it to the next level. It was great, the best thing ever, but he was the type of person who would never tell me how he felt. Finally, a couple months later, I told him I loved him as he hugged and kissed me goodbye, but instead of saying it back, he walked with me to a more private place and placed his hand on my face and looked at me and said, "There's nothing that I've ever wanted to hear more than that." Then he walked away. The next morning, I said it again and all he did was give me that look in his eyes. It was confusing, like he wanted to say it, but I wasn't sure. Finally, I had to ask him if he loved me or not. He replied, "My eyes say more than three words ever could." Then he said, "I love you," kissed me and walked away. At that moment, I knew that when he had the look in his eyes, he was saying more than I love you. He was saying (as quoted in his vows) "I'm telling you how much I need you, how much being with you has become my top priority. No matter what I'll be there for you and when we're apart, I'm still with you. You carry more than my love, but my happiness, my soul and desire to live. The look in his eyes is how he said so much more then just three words. Today, I prefer that look over I love you any day :) We have been married for 3 years now and I love him very much.
