The School Bus
One day in October of my freshman year on the way home on the bus, I noticed this girl sitting in the seat next to mine. I was typing funny words on my calculator and making my friend laugh. I typed up a word and said "Hey, look at what my calculator can do, I bet yours can't," to the girl. She said that I was an idiot and didn't seem to care.
The next day on the bus ride home I saw she was chewing some gum and I politely asked for some and she said no. So I begged her until I got to my stop and she eventually gave some to me.
A few says later, I saw her getting on the bus after hugging her boyfriend, and she wasn't happy. She didn't tell me what was wrong but I figured her boyfriend was being an idiot. So I just turned to my friend and starting talking to him about stuff.
The next day, I was walking down the hallway from math, and I saw her. So I leaned on her shoulders and asked her for a piece of gum. Then she pushed me off of her, yelled no and walked away.
A couple of days later, my friend told me that the girl on the bus liked me. I was like no, she hates me. So I walked away. As I was walking down the hallway, I noticed her trying to open up her locker and I offered to help her with it. After I opened it for her, I offered to open it again after the next period. She agreed and I think we both looked forward to it. A few days after that, we exchanged screen names and confessed that we liked each other online. (She was doing all of this while she had a boyfriend.)
So we started walking together in the hallways and going to events. Eventually her boyfriend caught on and realized he wasn't her boyfriend anymore.
Since then we have been going out for five years, and we have never been happier, and I've never loved her more than I do now. I hope when she reads this, it makes her happy.
