The Strings of Your Guitar
Your soft skin and your golden eyes
Sparkle in sun rays, and reflect the moonlight
Your smile is like a thousand stars
That sparkles up my world of calm
And sends me over the moon on the strings of your guitar.
Your fingers move in effortless style
And your voice holds the note for a while
A voice of light and warmth and love
Like a glowing angel from above
Descending down the strings of your guitar.
Chord after chord and note after note
Your eyes gently close and the music flows
And my heart feels with all the desire
To embrace you with a passion and fire
But after the stillness of the strings of your guitar.
The song ends on perfect cadence
And i close my eyes in willing patience
For the resonance to stop and vibrations to cease
The chord echoes in my head and i'm at peace
From the beauty of the strings of your guitar.
With a pounding heart my lashes lift
From reverie to grief my mood shifts
And my hope is lost into a pit of black
The hope of the past brings heart attack
The memory of the love from the strings of your guitar.
Note: My boyfriend died from cancer a few months ago. He was an acoustic singer and I still remember his beautiful voice as he would sing to me. I miss him so much.
