Truth or Dare?

I was at my friend's house for a sleepover and I was texting this guy I like. My friend Claire* asked to see my phone and me not thinking anything about it just gave it to her. The guy texted me back and Claire texted him pretending to be me and saying that I like him. He said I like you too.

While this was all happening, we were playing truth or dare. When she told me what she did, I was mad but I was kinda happy that he likes me too. As we were playing the truth or dare game, I said dare. So then my friends said we dare you to call him and said, "I want to bring our relationship to the next level" which meant that I want to go out with him. I had to do this dare and so I did.

He doesnt know about Claire or the truth or dare game. All he knows is that I like him. He is supposedly going to ask me out, but I don't know if he will for sure. So should I tell him when he asks me out? If so, when should I do it? Do you think that he will he be upset with me?
