Want Him to Open Up

I've been with this guy for 3 and a half months. After liking him for 2 years, he's mine. However, this relationship isn't what I expected.

I want him to open up to me and talk about how we feel about each other. I hate to say this but, I wish he was all mushy and acted like I really mattered to him, instead of just talking to me like a friend.

I know he means well and is just being himself but, I wish he was different with me, more intimate, I guess. How do I get him to get closer to me and talk to me differently?
