Why did he choose her?
by Kerri
So I met this boy in kindergarten. We had little crushes on each other then, but were best friends. The end of kindergarten came and we were split into different elementaries. Elementary came and I still thought about him, but never spoke to him.
In 5 grade I've seen him and his family at the park. I knew it was him and I overheard his mom talking to someone about him going to the same middle school I was planning on going to. So then I got excited.
Middle school came; I was dating someone. Our lockers were in the same hallway and close to each other. When I first saw him, I knew he looked familiar. But I wasn't sure. Every once in a while I would smile and say hi to him. I walked into my first hour and saw another friend from kindergarten. I asked him if he remembered me. (he was also a close friend back then). He said yes. He freaked out. He asked me if i remembered the boy I used to like. I told him yes. He told me after class that he was going to talk to him, and show him who I was.
Luckily, he remembered me. When he saw me he was surprised. He freaked out. Me and my boyfriend eventually broke up. So him and I started smiling at each other, but didn't really talk much.
A few days later it was Friday. The first dance was that day. People were coming up to me and told me he wanted to know if I would go to the dance with him. I was so happy, but didn't know if it was true. So I held out on the answer. Then he had his best friend come to me and ask me. So I said yes.
We hung out at the dance. After the dance, even though he lived a while from me, he walked home with me. He asked me out, and I said yes. We caught up walking home.
Eventually we started to hang out a lot. He was my first kiss. First love. We got through about 7 months without any breakups. Then a girl started to try talking to him. He told her no. Then eventually we got into an argument over it and we broke up. So that no turned into a yes. People called me the night we broke up and told me they started dating. I cried and cried, and kept ignoring his phone calls. He wouldn't stop calling me.
The next day we had school. I had to face him at one point. That day he ended up breaking up with her. And coming back to me. I took him back. Even though he kept denying her, she wouldn't stop trying. She started stuff with me and did all she could think of to break us apart. He kept going back and forth between us. At that point we ended it with a year and a half.
The two of them didn't have half the memories that me and him shared. We were together everyday.
Even though we loved each other she kept finding ways to get him. To this day, this pathetic girl still keeps trying for him even though he treats her bad. We don't talk much. But I still love and miss him. And deep down he feels the same.
No one should have to deal with competition over their own partner.
"If you love something let it go. If it comes back to you, then its truly yours, and if not then it wasn't meant to be."
